I'm not quite sure why but when I was in high school I bought my first cloth bag. It was one of those net bags and I had it for about a decade, until several of the small holes in the netting joined together to make one big hole, defeating the entire purpose of a bag.

Regardless of the bag's ultimate demise, I was hooked, addicted to the cloth. On the rare occasions when I forgot a bag (the horror!) I left the store carrying my purchases in a style that screams "shoplifting." As you can imagine, I've also been stopped by several security guards. But it's all in the name of conservation and style . . . and fun.

I started EcoVixen because I thought the green movement was missing a dash of devilish delight in the form of chic cloth bags for men and women. It's serious business, to be sure, but it doesn't mean we can't have a riotous good time while we save the earth.
